ARTIST BIO

Freya Isaacs is a new graduate artist currently based in London, England. Her artwork has been included in four exhibitions from 2023 to 2025, curated by the University of Suffolk, in which Isaacs has investigated a variety of mediums and thematic interests.

Her current artistic practice is steered by notions of mortality and the uncanny, and an ongoing fascination with the phantom-like presence of the other-worldly feminine. Using surreal elements and still life concepts as a stage, and employing iconography of the natural world as metaphors, Isaacs contemplates the feminine spirit through a curious series of oil and acrylic paintings. Her work is characterised in particular by the presence of flora, insects and fruit which serve as symbols for the body and the unordinary.
